Twilight Camp
Have you ever wondered why a giraffe’s neck so long? Did you
know that one of the elephant’s closest relatives is the
size of a football? What evidence does DNA provide us about
animal ancestry and where do humans fit in?
These are just a few questions that are answered by our new
and exciting Twilight Night Camp. This program is
specifically designed to meet the Arizona state science
standards, and will focus on the topics of evolution and
adaptation. Geared towards high school students, this is the
first Night Camp specially designed for secondary education.
Campers will learn more about the exciting topic of
evolution through guided nighttime tours, up-close
interactions with animals, hands-on activities, and
multimedia presentations. Covering topics from adaptations
of species and how these changes can lead to the formation
of new species. Additionally, this camp will explore how
humans impact the evolution of other species on our planet.
Camp begins after the Zoo has closed for the day and
finishes by 10:30 p.m. with an optional dinner provided by
Hungry Howie’s Pizza.
Fee: Adults $33, Children (5 – 17) $30; Includes a
private shuttle tour and a late evening snack.

Duration: 6:15pm – 10 pm; the night starts at 5:45 pm
if you include dinner (additional fee)
Availability: available anytime
Group Size: Groups require a minimum of 25 paid
campers. One adult chaperone (at least 18 years of age) is
required for each 10 children that attend. Mandatory
chaperones are free but not included in the minimum of 25
paid campers.
