Valentine's Day Special Animal Event
In honor of Valentine's Day, the Phoenix Zoo is highlighting some of our animals that sometimes go a bit unnoticed due to their "unique" appearances. Warty pigs and vultures may have a different appearance, but their roles in their environments are crucial to the food cycle! During this special Valentine's Day event, we will highlight the important role that vultures fulfill around the world as well as the role the warty pigs play in their ecosystem!
You will have the chance to meet with some of our zookeepers who work with these amazing animals while watching as these beautifully unique animals receive some special Valentine's Day treats!
•First at 9 a.m. watch as the Ruppell's griffon vultures and lappet-faced vultures on the African savanna receive their bones!
•At 10 a.m. head over to the Arizona aviary to watch the turkey vultures receive bones, followed by the vultures located near the Javelina exhibit at 10:30 a.m.
•Finally at 11 a.m. head over to the king vultures across from the komodo dragon exhibit to watch them receive bones!
•At 2:30 p.m. head down to the Children's Trail to watch as the warty pigs receive their special Valentine's treat!
