POLICIES & PARKING
Zoo and Starry Safari hours:
- During the summer season, the Zoo is open weekdays from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. beginning June 1st through September 30, 2009. Weekends from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. (including 4th of July and Labor Day) The Zoo reopens on Fridays & Saturdays at 6 p.m. for Starry Safari.
- Beginning October 1, 2009 the Zoo will go back to its regular daytime hours: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Starry Safari is open every Friday and Saturday evening between June 5 and August 8, 2009.
Starry Safari ticket information:
- Starry Safari admission is only $5 for all ages and $4 for Phoenix Zoo members. Two years and younger are free.
- Starry Safari tickets are non-refundable, but they are not dated and pre-purchased tickets can be used any of the 20 Starry Safari nights.
- All tickets have a barcode that admit one person.
- Tickets may not be resold.
- If you pre-purchased tickets but are unable to attend, please consider giving them as gifts for friends and family.
- If Starry Safari closes before 6:30 due to inclement weather your ticket will be exchanged for a ticket to another Starry Safari evening.
- If Starry Safari closes after 6:30 due to inclement weather the Zoo will not exchange tickets.
- Your ticket purchase supports the Phoenix Zoo, the nation’s largest nonprofit zoological park that does not receive public subsidies for its operations.
Starry Safari Parking information:
- The Phoenix Zoo parking lot is city-owned, not Zoo-owned.
- Park ONLY in designated parking spaces.
- If you park illegally, tickets will be issued, or your car could be towed by the city.
- The Zoo is not liable for parking tickets received by Starry Safari visitors who park illegally.
Starry Safari food availability:
A variety of menu items are available for purchase at Savanna Grill and Cavern Café.
Gift shop:
Our gift shop will be open during Starry Safari.
No pets allowed:
There are no pets allowed on Zoo grounds day or night. Only service animals are allowed and owners are required to contact our Park Ranger office prior to visiting. 602-273-1341, ext. 7889.
Inclement weather:
Starry Safari is open during all types of weather and temperatures; dress accordingly or consider using your ticket for another Starry Safari evening. If it is windy, we will need to deflate all the inflatables for safety purposes. However, we will re-inflate them once the inclement weather passes if possible.
Extending a daytime visit into Starry Safari:
Daytime Zoo visitors may not stay on Zoo grounds after the Zoo closes in order to attend Starry Safari. Daytime visitors will need to leave Zoo grounds at 2 p.m. Friday or 4 p.m. Saturday and return at 6 p.m. for the Starry Safari opening.
