Go-Go’s to Rock it Retro Style at ZooBrew 2009

Tickets now on sale for the ultimate happy hour and concert at the Phoenix Zoo

Phoenix (Feb. 25, 2009) – One of the ‘80s most popular groups will bring their catchy beats and unique style to ZooBrew as the original Go-Go’s take the stage on Friday, April 24, 2009, the Phoenix Zoo’s biggest annual fund-raising events.

The Zoo will be transformed into a beer and wine tasting party for more than 3, 000 guests from 7 – 11 p.m., with specialty food, beer and wine tasting from more than 30 beverage purveyors and much more.

Since their debut in 1978, the Go-Go’s have entertained fans, and ZooBrew will be no exception.  The ‘80s sensation was the first all-woman band to sing and play their own songs.  The ZooBrew lineup will include the original band members – Belinda Carlisle, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock, Jane Wiedlin and Kathy Valentine.

“ZooBrew is one of our most popular events because people can come out to the Zoo and do what they would do on any Friday night, but with the added bonus of helping out a great cause, ” said Bert Castro, president and CEO of The Phoenix Zoo.  “The money we raise at ZooBrew helps us care for our more than 1, 300 animals.  We couldn’t do that work without the generosity of our Zoo guests and donors.  Plus we are excited to have the Go-Go’s perform.”

ZooBrew is an age 21 and older event.  An early- bird special is available now through March 11, where admission tickets are $65 dollars for members, and $75 for non-members.  Beginning March 11, ticket prices will increase $10.  Tickets include a souvenir beer mug, admission to the concert and beer and wine sampling.  All the money raised will support the non-profit Phoenix Zoo.

ZooBrew will also feature a VIP experience presented by BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse.  VIP tickets will be $115 for members, sponsors and vendors.  Tickets are $125 for nonmembers.  The VIP experience will feature a full meal, private bar and a private tented area near the stage.  Tickets are limited.
