September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29                 

Wild Wednesdays

Wednesdays are getting Wild at the Phoenix Zoo this month! Present your Fry's Food Stores V.I.P card at the ticket window at the Phoenix Zoo and receive $2 off adult or child general admission tickets. Valid up to four people. Valid on Wednesdays only and not valid for advanced purchases.

September 4             International Vulture Awareness Day

 

  • Join us to celebrate 'Nature's Clean-up Crew', vultures! As scavengers, vultures help prevent the spread of disease and clean up the remains of many dead animals.
  • Watch in amazement as the vultures on our African Savanna enjoy a carcass feeding.  Check out Machu, one of our King vultures, as he flies overhead at the Amphitheater.
  •  Enjoy a Q&A session with our vulture expert and learn what you can do to help protect vultures and condors.

Bank of America card!

The Phoenix Zoo is a proud partner of Bank of America's Museums on Us® program.

On the first full weekend of every month, when a Bank of America customer shows their Bank of America ATM, credit or check card and a photo ID at the Zoo's Admission booth they will receive one free general admission ticket. Additionally, Bank of America employees will receive one free general admission ticket by showing a valid employee and photo ID.
Separate ticketed exhibits, rides and day and evening events are not included.
Valid through December 2010.

September 18           Fisher-Price® Luv U Zoo™ Baby Shower

9 &                Fisher-Price® presents a baby shower at the Phoenix Zoo!
Moms-to-be are invited to enjoy a relaxing hour of music, refreshments and girlfriend-to-girlfriend chat. Gather great ideas for that perfect nursery, see the latest baby gear and toys from Fisher-Price's Luv U Zoo™ collection. Limited seating, only for moms-to-be.

September 18           Twilight Camp

       Enjoy a nocturnal outdoor adventure including up-close animal encounters, hands-on activities, night hikes, snacks and more! Reservations required, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Must be 5 years of age and older.

September 22           Elephant Appreciation Day

        The Phoenix Zoo is home to three female Asian elephants; Sheena, Indu and Reba. Come celebrate Elephant Appreciation Day with us as we pamper, spoil and treat these lovely ladies to a day all about them! The first 25 Zoo members to report to the elephant exhibit get to assist with hiding treats for them inside their habitat. Open to everyone throughout the day, watch as the keepers perform daily tasks, make piñatas for them to enjoy and play with and delight in their favorite activity: an elephant shower!

September 25

   Wilderness Experience Camp

Sleepover under the stars at the Phoenix Zoo! Enjoy a delicious dinner over the grill, cook s'mores around the campfire, find adventure around every corner on the night hike, and experience up-close animal encounters. After a peaceful rest among our 1, 300 animals, enjoy a continental breakfast followed by a private Safari Train tour and enjoy the Zoo on your own for the day. This camp experience is recommended for ages 7+ and reservations are required.

All month long          Horse Hands!

Did you know the Phoenix Zoo has classes that teach you everything you wanted to know about horses…including riding? Horse Hands participants will learn horsemanship, horse caregiving and basic riding skills. All classes are held in a four week series.
