| Caji & Salomé |
|
Caji, a distinctive guitarist in the Brazilian style and unique singing interpretation redefines the grooves from his hometown, Salvador, Bahia. Salomé, from the islands of Azores, joined him as a multilingual vocalist; her percussions grooves; ukulele and her passion for Brazilian and world music. Together they extended the musical language to a mutli-cultural expression. They represent and explore a vast universe of musical styles that are interconnected. While the main influence is Afro-Brazilian, which includes bossa-nova, samba, and afoxé, they incorporate reggae and other world music styles such as bolero, morna, and fado into their unique sound. With her percussiveness and ability to sing in four different languages (Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English), and his sensitivity to musical language, and rythms, they are able to bring to the music of the world, including Brazilian, Cuban, French, Peruvian, Cabo Verdan and Portuguese, a special sensitivity to the rare beauty of these cultures.

| Paul Horton
- Morning News Meteorologist
|
|

Paul joins the CBS 5 morning team from Cincinnati, Ohio. His first visit
to the Valley was to visit his sister Lynne at ASU; after that he was
determined to end up in Phoenix. Paul says, "There is so much to do
here, it is really easy to fall in love with this area!"
Paul realized he had an interest in weather in 1989, when he and his
father were huddled in the bathroom of their small St. Thomas home
enduring the wrath of Hurricane Hugo. After that experience he realized
how important a meteorologist's job can be. He is a graduate of the
communication/broadcasting program at George Fox University. Paul
received his Meteorology Certificate from Mississippi State University.
Prior to his arrival at CBS 5, Paul was the Chief Meteorologist for WXIX
TV. He was also the in-game host for the Cincinnati Reds, and hosted a
weekly radio show with his brother Mike. He also spent time working in
Kennewick, Spokane, and Seattle, Wa. During that time he won an Emmy for
the Northwest's best weather anchor and received numerous community
awards for his work with local schools.
Being involved in the community is very important to Paul. He enjoys
spending much of his time volunteering for local charities and visiting
local schools talking to students about the weather. On the weekends you
can find Paul hiking, at the pool, exploring the area, and on his radio
show on 98.7 The Peak every Sunday afternoon.
CBS 5 is very excited to have Paul Horton on the morning news team. Be
sure to join him weekdays from 4:30 a.m. - 7 a.m. for a fun twist on
what the Valley has to offer. Paul is out and about every morning to
bring you a sneak peek at the must-see events and locations. If you have
an upcoming event you want more people to know about, or a really cool
place we've just got to send Paul, e-mail us with all your contact
information and a quick sentence or two about why it's a "must-see" live
location for CBS 5 Morning News.
