Monkey Village

Monkey Village

Walk into an open exhibit where squirrel monkeys scamper through bushes and trees just inches away. As the only walk-through squirrel monkey exhibit in the United States, this is a must-see on your visit to the Zoo!

Phoenix Zoo Petting Zoo

Meet the goats!

Pet and brush the goats in the large Red Barn at Harmony Farm. This experience is a favorite for all ages as well as for the goats! You’ll also be able to get up close to cows, sheep and horses.

Get up-close and personal with the tallest mammal at the Phoenix Zoo! This experience is sure to become a favorite destination spot on your visit to the Zoo.

Stingray Bay

Stingray Bay

Stingray Bay is an interactive experience allowing guests to come hand to fin with our school of cownose stingrays. Our 15,000 gallon interactive pool offers you the chance to watch these beautiful animals “fly” through the water, dip your hand in to feel their unique skin and even get closer as you feed them fish and shrimp.

Camel rides are one of the most popular things to do at the Phoenix Zoo.  Be greeted by one of the most amazing animals of the world, and even get your picture taken!

Take an adventurous trek through the shady Virginia G. Piper Enchanted Forest! Located near the Endangered Species Carousel, little explorers can take the bridge over a trickling river and through the trees to visit the Enchanted Forest’s own tree house! Take a ride down the giant tree trunk slides and splash through the river bottom on your visit to this magical get-a-way in the heart of the Phoenix Zoo.


Discovery Farm

Mosey on over to Discovery Farm where you can explore a child-sized red barn, silo slide, animal rockers and more. Located on Harmony Farm, this unique play area inspires imaginative play, while offering a cool place to rest and enjoy lunch at one of the nearby picnic tables.

Dinosaurs in the Desert

Twenty-three prehistoric creatures have officially descended onto the Phoenix Zoo’s Desert Lives Trail. This is an unforgettable self-guided expedition into the land of the lost you won’t want to miss.

4-D Theater

Experience the wonder of 4-D at the Phoenix Zoo’s new 4-D Theater, the first of its kind in the Valley! Each show will make you feel fully immersed in a truly magical way utilizing smells, water, wind and other various in theater effects.

Hours:  
November 1 – January 14: 9:15 a.m. – Last show starts at 3:45 p.m.
January 15 – May 31: 9:15 a.m. – Last show starts at 4:45 p.m.
September 1 – 31: 9:15 a.m. – Last show starts at 4:45 p.m.
June 1 – August 31: 7:15 a.m. – Last show starts at 1:45 p.m.

Shows run at 15 minutes and 45 minutes of every hour and last approximately 10 – 15 minutes.

What’s the best way to see the Zoo? The answer is easy— hop aboard the Safari Train for a fun, narrated, 25 minute tour meandering past a large portion of the Zoo’s animals, encounters and experiences.

Take a journey on the Endangered Species Carousel powered by SRP EarthWise Energy. Each animal is handcrafted for an authentic, distinctive look. No two animal finishes are alike. Choose a lion, elephant, zebra, mountain lion, rhino or even a sea dragon! Note: Please make sure your child is dry and sand free before riding the carousel. Thank you.

Pedal Boats

Pedal Boats

Get a new perspective of the Zoo when you float along the shores of Harmony Farm. Boats will accommodate up to four people. Children must be at least 2 years of age to ride, and drivers must be 18.

* Prices include a $5 refundable deposit.

Pedal boats are open depending on weather and the time of year.

Ambassador Animal Resources

Enchanted Forest Amphitheatre

Ambassador Animal Resources presents, “It’s in the Bag: Animal adaptations you use at the Zoo.” This live animal show is located at the Enchanted Forest Amphitheatre Thursdays through Mondays (weather permitting). See our signs at the Turnstiles and Amphitheatre entrance for daily times.

Do you have a preschooler who loves to hop, howl and hear a great story? Then join us for cool reading adventures on select Wednesdays this summer at 9:30 a.m. We’ll explore a new children’s book each week and journey into the animal kingdom on a safari like no other, making discoveries along the way!

 


Puppet Shows

C.W. & Modene Neely Education and Event Center

Introduce young children to friendly and fierce animals in a light-hearted and entertaining way! Join us for a live 20-minute puppet show featuring a fun and fantastical animal fantasy that encourages sing-along, interaction and laughter.

Performances are presented by our talented volunteers and offered on Thursdays, October through April in the C.W. & Modene Neely Education and Event Center at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. All shows are available for school groups and general Phoenix Zoo guests alike; however, in order to guarantee seating for large groups, a two- week advance reservation is required.


Wild Walk

Wild Walk

Just as the Phoenix Zoo cares deeply about the well-being of our animals, your well-being is important to us too. So we’ve partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona to give you some tools for success. Take a walk on the Wild Walk and learn fun ways to make fitness a part of your everyday life while you gather some tidbits about our Zoo animals. Look for signs throughout the Zoo and for markers on your Zoo map.
