Help Build Our Entry Oasis!

The Phoenix Zoo’s new $3.4 million Entry Oasis supported by
Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust will expedite the entrance process and through interpretive theme it will transport guests from the urban setting of the Valley to a world of natural wonder.

Beginning as guests step onto the sidewalk in front of the Phoenix Zoo, the new entry will expedite the entrance transaction and spark curiosity and excitement. After strolling across a renovated bridge, stealing glimpses of the resident turtles and waterfowl in the pond below, guests will be greeted by an exhibit featuring animals unique to the Sonoran Desert. As anticipation builds, guests will be encompassed by a video presentation celebrating and honoring this beautiful environment, with a soundtrack featuring traditional singers from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

Guests are then able to either move through improved turnstiles or enter through a new Members Entrance, avoiding any potential lines and receiving a personal greeting from a Member Services Specialist. A redesigned rotunda in that area will house service areas for membership, reservations, guest services, group events and security staff. In addition, this area will include a guest relations service area, which will greatly enhance the guest experience. Both members and daily guests will then emerge onto a redefined pathway, ready to enjoy the textures of our Arizona Trail and unencumbered views of the giraffes and other species on the African Savanna.

With this new Entry Oasis supported by Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, every guest arriving will immediately recognize they are in for a vibrant, fascinating and World Class experience at the Phoenix Zoo.
