Camel rides are one of the most popular things to do at the Phoenix Zoo.  Be greeted by one of the most amazing animals of the world, and even get your picture taken!

Did You Know?

- Camels are best known for their impressive humps that are prominent on the camel's back. Camels are mainly found in the deserts of the Middle-East, and in some areas of eastern Asia.

- Camels are incredibly resilient to the desert climates and the arid conditions that would easily kill another animal. Camels also possess the incredible ability to lose nearly 40% of their body weight on water and be unharmed.

- In the late 1850s, camels were used to survey a route for a wagon road from Fort Defiance in Arizona to the Colorado River.
