Auxiliary
Would you like to make new friends and have fun, while deepening your active support of the Phoenix Zoo? Join the Auxiliary – the Zoo’s oldest volunteer organization to proudly serve, since its 1961 inaugural – a year before the Zoo opened in November 1962.
In the early years, Auxiliary members undertook astonishing projects – from small, but significant, jobs like stuffing envelopes to caring for baby animals during a time when the Zoo could not afford professional staff. Through its fund-raising, the Auxiliary provided significant financial support to make possible many of today’s exhibits, programs, and early infrastructure of the Zoo.
The Auxiliary continues its proud tradition of service and financial support to The Phoenix Zoo in numerous ways by – raising funds through a recycling program, and assisting with other special events and Zoo fund-raisers, such as Zoo Brew and ZooFari.
