Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Program

Notice: On January 1, 2018, the Arizona Center for Nature Conservation/Phoenix Zoo moved away from the national Museums for All program but are offering a community access program for Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cardholders. Effective September 2, 2018, the Phoenix Zoo EBT Discount Program (valid on Sundays ONLY) is increasing its rate from $5 to $8. Cardholders may purchase up to four (4) general daytime admission tickets at the Phoenix Zoo EBT Program admission rate. Tickets purchased through the Phoenix Zoo EBT Program are only valid on the date on which they were purchased.

Why is the Phoenix Zoo offering a community access program?
The Phoenix Zoo is committed to providing experiences that inspire people and motivate them to care for the natural world. Our belief is that everyone should have the opportunity to experience and cultivate positive connections to nature and wildlife and we seek inclusion of all members of our community, regardless of economic status or other limiting factors.

As a major educational resource for the state of Arizona, with widespread community support, our Community Access Programs (CAP) are dedicated to making the Phoenix Zoo more accessible to low-income, at-risk and/or underserved children and families.

Who is eligible for discounted Zoo admission through the Phoenix Zoo EBT Program?
Any cardholder of valid, non-expired Arizona state-issued EBT card with valid photo ID and up to three (3) additional individuals.
Do I have to show photo ID?
Yes. All EBT cards must be presented with a valid photo ID that includes a signature.
Guests who are unable to provide a valid photo ID will be unable to purchase any EBT admission tickets.
Do I have to sign my EBT card?
Yes. All EBT cards must be signed by the cardholder and signatures will be matched to the signature on the valid photo ID presented at the time of purchase.

Guests who are unwilling to sign their EBT and present a matching signature and photo ID will be unable to purchase any Phoenix Zoo EBT Program admission tickets.

Can I use the EBT card as payment?
No. The EBT cards can only be used to show that cardholders are eligible for the Phoenix Zoo EBT admission rate. They must use a method the Zoo accepts to pay – cash or credit/debit cards.
Are there any restrictions to this program?
EBT cards may only be used once per visit (Sundays) to purchase up to four (4) general daytime admission tickets at the Phoenix Zoo EBT Program admission rate. Tickets purchased through the Phoenix Zoo EBT Program are only valid on the date in which they were purchased.

This benefit is only valid on Sundays, during regular daytime Zoo hours, and cannot be used for separate ticketed special events or combined with any other offer/discount or applied to advance or pre-purchased tickets. Admission is not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other products or service.

Are patrons with EBT cards from other states eligible for this rate?
No, only Arizona state issued EBT cards are accepted.
Does my EBT card get me discounts on any experiences inside the Zoo?
No, entry to optional experiences at the Zoo (e.g., 4-D Theater, Safari Cruiser, Stingray Bay, Endangered Species Carousel, special exhibitions, etc.) is not included.
