Spinosaurus

Spinosaurus aegyptiacus

Reaching lengths of over fifty feet, Spinosaurus is the longest known land carnivore ever. Recent fossil discoveries suggest that it hunted much like modern herons. It would wade into the water and wait patiently for large prey to swim by and snatch it up with its lengthy jaws.
The purpose of the sail on its back is still a mystery, but it is thought to have been used for temperature control and perhaps communication.
