Take your furry friend out for a Zoo day of their very own! For one day only, the Phoenix Zoo is opening the trails to dogs and filling them with special activities, vendors and more designed just for dogs (and their humans too).

EVENT RULES & SAFETY GUIDELINES
RESTRICTED AREAS
For the safety of our Zoo animals and your pets, dogs must remain on the designated dog-friendly routes at all times.
Dogs are strictly prohibited in the following areas*:
- Walk-through aviaries
- Monkey Village
- Giraffe Encounter
- Camels
- Goat Yard
- Savanna Grill
- Critter Corner
- Doornbos Discovery Amphitheater
- Lakeside Carousel
- Safari Cruiser
*Restricted areas are subject to change at any point at the discretion of Phoenix Zoo staff.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for dogs, people, and our wildlife, all guests must adhere to the following rules. Event staff reserve the right to ask guests to leave without a refund if they fail to follow these instructions or cannot maintain control of their dog.
Eligibility and Health
- All dogs must be at least six months old.
- Dogs must be current on all required vaccinations, including rabies.
- No sick, injured or in-heat dogs are permitted.
- No aggressive or highly reactive dogs are allowed.
Leash and Control
- Dogs must always remain on a non-retractable leash (maximum of six feet long).
- Dogs must always be under the direct control of their handler.
- You must stay on the designated dog-friendly pathways. Entering restricted or sensitive areas is strictly prohibited.
Owner Responsibility
- Owners must immediately clean up after their dog and properly dispose of waste.
- Owners are responsible for providing their dogs with water and monitoring their wellbeing in the heat.
