Dimorphodon was a small pterosaur with a remarkably large skull. Its jaws were equipped with numerous variably sized, sharp teeth. Its large head allowed it to hunt more robust prey than other pterosaurs of similar size. Due to its head size and relatively short wingspan, Dimorphodon was likely a short-distance flier, like modern quail and woodpeckers.

Like most small pterosaurs, it was probably a skilled climber and would watch for ground-dwelling prey while perched upon cliffs or in the lower branches of trees.
