Amargasaurus is known for the two parallel rows of tall spines that start at its neck and continue down its back. There are many hypotheses about these spiny structures, the most popular being that they were covered in skin and formed sails.
The purpose of the sails is still unknown, but paleontologists speculate they could have been used for self-defense or as a display to attract potential mates.
