Austroraptor is one of the largest dromaeosaurs ever discovered. Dromaeosaurs include animals like Velociraptor, Deinonychus and Utahraptor.
Austroraptor had similar tools for capturing aquatic prey as predatory water birds do today, such as an osprey’s piercing talons or a great blue heron’s speed and stealth. Austroraptor, with its sharp, pointy teeth and powerful jaws, would have been a formidable predator for any aquatic prey species.
