Conservation Science Night
Join us for an exciting evening celebrating the Phoenix Zoo’s conservation efforts! Engage with conservation scientists and discover the impactful work we’re doing to preserve species in Arizona and worldwide.
This is a family-friendly event with a focus on school-age children, but there is something for everyone! This year’s interactive stations include:
- Learning what an ethogram is and using it to catalog animal behavior
- Using a black light to identify tagged narrow-headed gartersnakes
- Seeing if you can find our nocturnal Black-footed ferrets with a technique called spotlighting

This event is free, but advanced registration is required. You will need to reserve a ticket for everyone in your group. Tickets will be scanned at check-in. Tickets can be reserved until February 22, 2024 by 12:00 p.m.
Please enter the Zoo through the main entrance and follow the signage to the Neely Education Center. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.
Conservation Science Night is a contained event that occurs after regular Zoo hours and will take place in the Neely Education Center. Unfortunately, you will not be able to explore the Zoo during this event, but we encourage you to come again during regular Zoo hours if you want to explore more!
