FAQS
Is my Support Membership tax-deductible?
Support Membership gifts may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The value of benefits you receive, such as admission and guest passes, is not deductible. Your tax acknowledgment letter will detail the deductible portion of your gift. We recommend consulting your tax advisor for guidance specific to your situation.
How long is my membership valid?
Support Membership benefits are valid for one year from your activation date, unless otherwise noted.
Will I receive a membership card?
Your membership card is available through the PassPlay app, free on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
To add your card, you’ll need:
- your Visual ID (found in your membership confirmation)
- the email address or phone number associated with your membership.
Once added, your card is ready to use immediately for Zoo admission, member benefits and discounts and reciprocal zoo visits where applicable.

How many people are included in my membership?
You may name up to 3 people on your account: 1 adult plus 2 additional adults or children (3+).
Friend level members may bring a total of up to 8 people per visit. Partner level members may bring a total of up to 10 people per visit. This total includes everyone entering together, named individuals and guests alike.
If my child is named on the membership, may they enter without an adult present?
Per Zoo policy, individuals 14 and older may enter the Zoo without an adult present. A named member 14 or older may also serve as the chaperone for guests under 14 in their party.
Does my membership include ZooLights admission?
Support members receive special ZooLights benefits, including a Support-only preview opportunity and discounted tickets.
Do Support Members receive access to special events?
Support members may receive invitations to select member and donor engagement opportunities throughout the year.
How do I renew my Support Membership?
You can renew online, by phone, by mail, or by contacting the Donor Relations team.
Can I upgrade from Friend to Partner?
Yes. Contact our team and we’ll help you upgrade your membership.
If I upgrade during the year, will my membership expiration date change?
Generally, your membership term stays tied to your original renewal date. Contact us for details specific to your membership.
