Building a New Holding and Quarantine Facility: The Doornbos Animal Rescue and Care Center

Every animal at the zoo has a story

Some are part of critical conservation efforts, some are part of a Species Survival Plan, some are rescued from illegal trafficking by state and federal agencies while others may leave their family group as part of growing up and establishing independence. No matter the story, each of these scenarios involve animals spending time in a safe and secure holding facility. That’s where you come in—we need your help to build a state-of-the-art quarantine and holding facility at the Phoenix Zoo.

a safe haven starts with you

Imagine a young spider monkey rescued from trafficking, a leopard in need of specialized care or a rare bird adjusting to a new life. Your support can ensure their journey begins with safety, comfort and the best possible care. Please join us in building a better future for these animals. Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for being an advocate for wildlife and making a difference in the lives of animals who need us most.
