Bring more families and students closer to wildlife and learning

For many children, a visit to the Phoenix Zoo is something they may never experience. The cost of admission or program fees can put these moments out of reach. Your support helps remove those barriers, making it possible for families and students to visit the Zoo, connect with animals, and experience the natural world in meaningful ways.

Through Community Connections, the Zoo provides discounted admission and scholarships so more people can participate in these experiences

Why it matters

A single visit to the Phoenix Zoo can spark curiosity, build confidence and inspire a deeper connection to wildlife and conservation. But for many families and schools, cost is a real barrier. Community Connections focuses on students from Title I schools and families who may not otherwise be able to visit.

With your support, more children can experience the Zoo not as a one-time visit, but as a place for learning, discovery and inspiration.

For many students, a field trip to the Phoenix Zoo is their first time seeing wild animals up close.

Your support helps make these visits possible through discounted admission for Title I school groups, families using EBT benefits and others who may not otherwise be able to visit the Zoo.

For students, these experiences give them the chance to:

Explore the Zoo with their classmates

See wildlife up close in a safe, engaging setting

Connect what they learn in the classroom to the real world

For families, it means the opportunity to learn together, explore wildlife up close and inspire a deeper connection to the natural world.

A visit to the Zoo can be just the beginning. ZooReach scholarships help students go further by covering the cost of hands-on educational programs, including camps, outreach experiences, and classroom learning.

With your support, students can:

Participate in Night Camp and spend an evening exploring the Zoo after hours

Attend day camp programs that build skills in science, conservation, and critical thinking

Experience Live on Location presentations that bring animals and conservation stories directly into their classrooms

These programs give students the chance to engage more deeply, ask questions, and see themselves as future conservationists.

Many corporate partners choose to support programs that expand conservation education and make the Zoo accessible to more families and students across Arizona.

These partnerships help ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience wildlife and learn about conservation.

For many students, these opportunities are rare.

“My students rarely get field trips. Night Camp would give them a learning experience they will talk about all year.”
