spotted at the zoo

A second year male bald eagle, banded by Arizona Game & Fish Department before he fledged, was spotted on Zoo grounds Thursday morning. These photos serve as a great reminder to guests, volunteers and staff to keep an eye out for native wildlife while visiting the Zoo!

Wild birds are banded under the guidance of the USGS’s Bird Banding Lab and help us understand where birds go, how far they travel and how well they are doing. This helps us better conserve and protect our native birds.
