In celebration of the 30th anniversary of ZooLights is a brand new display of illuminated paintings showing various endangered species. 

The Phoenix Zoo has partnered with artist, Russell Ronat, to present this special collection of beautiful, large mixed media paintings of endangered animals (known as Project Holocene) found throughout the ZooLights path. 

Ronat’s work is not only stunning, but it helps raise awareness on the importance of wildlife conservation. The goal of Project Holocene is to show both the beauty and fragility of many species that are currently under threat of extinction. 

The 13 illuminated pieces for ZooLights include an elephant, hawksbill sea turtle, Amur leopard, Bornean orangutan, wolf, Bali mynah, among others.
