Africa Trail
Discover the depths of africa
The Africa Trail showcases many of the most popular animals in the world, including the African painted dog, hamadryas baboon, mandrill, ostrich, gazelle, Southern white rhino, as well as Grévy’s zebras, lions, cheetahs and giraffes.
The Desert Lives trail, diverts off of the Africa Trail before and after the lion and hyena habitats, and features desert bighorn sheep and Arabian oryx among the natural buttes.

Accessibility
The path leading from the Savanna exhibit has a steep uphill section with little shade.
Wheelchair Accessible
We recommend wheelchair users and other individuals with mobility concerns to begin the Africa Trail from the camel rides.
