Yes!  Zoo Move & Groove is a family fun event. Bring the whole family! We ask that those with strollers start towards the back of the pack. 

Zoo Move & Groove is for all ages and ability levels. Both runners and walkers are welcome. We ask that slower runners and walkers start towards the back of the pack.

No. Pets are not allowed unless they are certified and vetted service animals.

You can choose from three days to pick up your packet:

  • Tuesday, January 17, 2023 3 – 7 p.m. | Roadrunner Sports, Tempe Marketplace
  • Wednesday, January 18, 2023 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Roadrunner Sports, Tempe Marketplace
  • Thursday, January 19, 2023 3 – 7 p.m. | Roadrunner Sports, Tempe Marketplace

No problem! For those who can’t pick up their packet in advance, you may pick it up at registration, located in the parking lot, on race day beginning at 4 p.m.

You will receive a shirt, race bib and glow item(s). Your race bib will serve as your ticket into the exclusive ZooLights night after the race (January 21, 2023). Your race bib will also have perforated tabs for your two raffle tickets, kettle corn and hot cocoa, which can be redeemed during the ZooLights’ portion of the event.

Yes. You will need the name they registered under to do so.

Unfortunately, we are not able to mail race packets.  We would be happy to schedule a time for pick up at the Phoenix Zoo.  Please contact eventdonations@phoenixzoo.org 

A medal is NOT included with registration. For an additional $15, you may purchase a medal and support the non-profit Phoenix Zoo.

Medals are limited and are based on first-come, first-served basis.  If medals are available on race day, they will be sold at packet pick-up, registration table and at the Lakeside tent.  All proceeds benefit the non-profit Phoenix Zoo.

Yes.  You can purchase an additional shirt online in advance for $15. Your shirt will be ready for pick up with your packet. Extra shirts will be available for purchase on race day; however, this is subject to availability.  

Shirts are ordered in advance according to what you selected when you registered online. If we have any extras after the race, you are welcome to exchange, but if the race fills, extras for exchange are unlikely.

No. Registration for Zoo Move & Groove includes admission into an exclusive ZooLights evening on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 6 – 10 p.m. This does not give you entry into any other ZooLights night.

Spectators will receive entry into the exclusive Zoo Move & Groove ZooLights night on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 6 – 10 p.m. Spectators do not receive admission into the Zoo daytime, shirt, food or beverage.

Yes. Zoo Move & Groove is a fundraising event for the non-profit Phoenix Zoo.  Registration fees apply to all of those participating in the 5K.

Because of the fundraising nature of the event, no additional discounts will be offered. 

Yes. Registration opens at 4 p.m. Shirt sizes are subject to availability. 

Face coverings are optional while visiting the Zoo. Please follow CDC guidelines in accordance with your personal health and vaccination status.

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures for our guests, Zoo employees and our animals. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting the Phoenix Zoo. Despite our efforts, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, older adults and guests of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. Guests should evaluate their risk in determining whether to visit. No. At this time, we are not requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test. 

There will be port-a-potties available near the registration. Inside the Zoo, you are welcome to stop at one of the existing restrooms on the race route (Plaza, near elephants and near Monkey Village).
